I built this pounding station out of desperation and scraps...lol. My arthritis was killing me in the winter pounding out hardware.

I used a 3x3 pallet for the base. I added filler strips and a piece of construction plywood to it. The walls consists of 2x6 boards and construction plywood because they were free. The "roof" extends past the walls to stop water running straight down. At some point I will redo it into a proper peak.

There are windows on all four sides. I used pieces of 6-pack rings for window hinges so they open like a flap. I used leftover hardware for everything. My top shelf wraps all the way around and lines up with the bottom of some of the windows. Plus scraps of wood to hold tools on the walls. I used a chain to hold the door closed when I'm inside.

The second shelf as well as underneath allows for minimal storage. I covered it with a heavy clear plastic to keep the rain and snow out but allows light in around the top.

I have a thin styrofoam covering everything for insulation. It originally was used for protecting someone's hot tub and now I have my very own padded room...lol! It even covers the floor like an anti-fatigue mat. It's got the added bonus of slight sound reduction.

I cut a hole in the floor corner to run a power chord through to a power bar. I can run a mini heater and be warm. I used a lamp given to me for a night light. I will change it to battery operated lights.

This allows me to slide the wood through the windows and remove hardware from the boards without being on the frozen ground or in the elements. Hence the reason I call it my pounding station! I raised it up on bricks and added a mini porch to sit on if I want.

Not bad for my first building! It's solid, useful and can be moved to different locations.
