When you take your boat out to sea, there are many things you must keep in mind. One is the fact that
the ocean is filled with some of the world’s most incredible and dangerous creatures, and the second
being the reminder that you are in their territory and not the other way around. So, what happens when
one of these sea creatures becomes unamused by your presence in its territory?
Well, you’re about to find out. This is 100M and today, we are going to show you 10 sea monsters

#10 STINGRAY

When you go out into the water, you better be ready for some surprises. In 2008, A Florida man found
himself in a critical condition after a 5ft-wide, 30lb stingray "jumped onto his boat and stabbed him in
the chest.” The attack on 81-year-old James Bertakis, of Lighthouse Point, occured on a calm Wednesday
while he was out on his boat with his granddaughter and her friend. The assault left the old man with a
foot-long barb in his chest, and his granddaughter was obliged to guide the vessel back to his home
where they tried to get some medical help.
The stingray’s victim was conscious when help arrived and he was in a pretty state. I mean, what would
you expect from someone that literally got stabbed by a huge supposedly peaceful creature of the sea?
Anyway, surgeons were able to remove some of the barb that was lodged in his chest and collapsed one
of his lungs. Eerily enough, they couldn’t find the rest of it and concluded that they might have migrated.
The attacking flappy creature ended up dying on the boat. They shoved it in a bag and iced it to be sent
off to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Officers. What a wild encounter.

#9 SPOTTED EAGLE RAY
This is yet another stingray attack and you might be shocked to find that it occured in Florida as well.
Honestly, these creatures have been said to be docile and non-harmful creatures but with what we are
seeing right here, we’re not so sure about that. A female tourist got pinned to the deck of her
sightseeing boat by a 300-pound stingray. The sea creature literally hurtled right out of nowhere from
beneath the water and launched itself into her vehicle as she cruised off the Florida Keys.
The 40-year-old woman was knocked down by the spotted eagle ray, which literally torpedoed out of
the water and slammed into the middle of her chest just after she took a photo of it. She took a photo?
Well, ladies and gentlemen, here’s your advice: don’t start taking pics when you see a gigantic creature
spinning out of the water.
Anyway, after she stood right there to catch a photo of the eagle ray, the tourist was trapped and
gasping for air under its 8ft wide body for almost five minutes while her three young kids were terrified
and screaming at the back of the boat. I would be terrified and screaming too. Just look at the size of
that thing! The eagle ray was pushed back out to sea and Our 40-year-old picture-snapping ray-
attracting tourist came out alright with some head injuries and hopefully, a lesson or two learned.

#8 GREAT WHITE SHARK

These bad guys do not need an introduction. Say what you will but sharks, especially Great whites
remain some of the sea’s most popular and formidable residents. In 2017, A fisherman luckily lived to
tell the tale of how he ended up with a great white shark in the bottom of his boat.
73-year-old Terry Selwood was fishing offshore at Evans Head on the New South Wales north coast in
Australia, when the massive Great White shark launched itself into his boat. What is it with these sea
creatures and jumping into people’s boats?
The man had no idea what hit him, or technically, what hit his boat. All he saw was the vague blur of
something jumping into the boat before the shark’s pectoral fin smacked him on the forearm and
knocked him straight down. Did this thing learn martial arts or something?
Anyway, while bleeding out and stunned from what happened, Selwood managed to reach for his radio
and call the local marine rescue. The shark was still flapping and wriggling around on the tiny boat. Help
came at last and the fisherman was rescued. They eventually came back for the boat and the 9-foot long
440-pound shark. Now that is one big unexpected passenger.

#7 GIANT SQUID
Ah yes, the Kraken has struck. This time, it was in 2003 off the Portuguese island of Madeira when
French sailors taking part in the round-the-world Jules Verne Trophy said they came across one of the
most elusive monsters of the sea: the giant squid.
