Ex-Prince Andrew's 'War Hero' Accolades 'Went to' His Head, Claims Biographer: 'He Reveled in the Ad

Royal biographer Tina Brown, in a Substack article, alleges that press coverage and palace favoritism shaped Prince Andrew’s self-image, drawing scrutiny of his past conduct.

In “Can the Andrew File Get Any Worse?”, Brown cites Andrew Lownie’s Entitled and recounts post–Falklands War adulation, military service, and reported helicopter access. The article references Jeffrey Epstein and notes claims involving Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs that Sarah Ferguson denies.

Brown quotes sources who say helicopters were available “whenever he wanted,” including flights to the St. Andrews golf course, and revisits allegations from his UK trade envoy tenure. She notes Andrew has not been formally charged but remains under investigation tied to Epstein, and concludes with the phrase “a rot at the heart of the whole royal system.”
