ITALIAN PHRASES FOR DATING (and avoiding a broken heart in Italy)

Here is an episode for those of you learning the Italian language and also hoping to navigate flirting, dating or falling in love with an Italian in Italy. Many of you have asked me to speak about my personal choice of not partaking in the whole hookup culture of casual sex and one-night stands. If that's what you enjoy - no judgement here - but if you want to express your values and communicate that you prefer to know and trust someone well before sleeping with them, it can be really tough - whether in your mother tongue or in Italian. So here is some 'big sister advice' because I care about your emotional welfare and I know it isn't always easy to stand up for your values. I don't want you to get your heart broken or find out you're being cheated on or lied to, which can really be hurtful and traumatic if you're all alone on exchange living in Italy as an expat.
