Workshop: Basic Income | No One is Disposable: 2020 Outreach and Advocacy Conference

COVID-19 has revealed massive flaws in our income security system making the call for a guaranteed basic income more timely than ever before. This workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge gathered from Ontario’s Basic Income Pilot, both research and lived experiences; give an overview of CERB has both worked and failed Canadians; and ideas for moving the issue forward.

Facilitator: Laura Cattari is a Senior Policy Analyst with the Hamilton Roundtable for Poverty Reduction. She specializes in income security and disability. She was part of the previous provincial government’s income security reform working group who co-designed Income Security: Roadmap for Change. Laura was also a former Ontario Basic Income Participant.
