The American Iceland Collection - Episode Five - Death to Life

Episode Five of The American Iceland Collection was filmed near Stykkisholmur, Iceland on December 15, 2018. My dilemma was rather to sail across the gulf of northwestern Iceland on a fairy with my Ford Focus or to continue my drive along the Golden Circle route on Route 1. This video showcases my decision, well worth the drive on backcountry dirt / gravel roads. The title death to life is from the unique cemetery with crosses that are illuminated, to the life of the water that is one of the sole things that is alive. Being on an ash island there is not much life on the island other than the water from highlands from melting glaciers mountaintops. A sole lone church is seen along with the gas station hot dog version to our 7-11 fast food warm products. They accompany fried onions and normal onions with the hotdog, a must do when in Iceland. The hot dog is also typically accompanied with sweet brown mustard called pylsusinnep, and remoulade, a sauce made with mayo, capers, mustard, and herbs. The sunset is also seen in spectacular fashion in the middle on a 100km dirt road with less than a dozen occupied homes along the stretch.
