Who knew there was a teeny little nation located inside Vilnius, Lithuania? What began as a joke has become a source of real pride for citizens. The Republic of Užupis, as it's known, is less than one square kilometre and has its own government, constitution, and currency...even its own navy! The area occupied by Užupis used to be one of the toughest and worst neighbourhoods in Vilnius and now boasts the highest property values. It's a place where creativity, freedom, and art are valued above all.
