FOND FLASHBACK MEMORIES OF OUR FOREIGN ANTIQUE DEALERS

What a difference a year makes! In this penultimate edition of our Flashback Fridays series, I review my first ever video from the giant Renninger's Mt. Dora Antique Extravaganza, and am reminded of all the colleagues from over the border and overseas who we haven't gotten to see in awhile.

We get to shop and look around in the vicinity of my booth, which starts under wraps but eventually comes out to play when the weather turns. I'm happy to say that a lot of what I had at this show is long gone to collector homes...green and purple Blenko, advertising cigarette lighters, even the pair of Satsuma mantel vases are now at home with their new collector-owners. Thankfully, there's fields of other dealers ' stuff right near by, so we shop instead of setting up right away.

Nostalgia hits me as I see us walking by the sparkling and colorful display of stained glass from England, a place I regularly shop that hasn't been available this season. I should've bought so much more, who knew it would be unavailable this year?

Next door, we take in some of the handsome furniture from Stephan, a French dealer who carries everything from wide low provincial cabinets to
stylish modernist barstools. Definitely missing seeing our foreign dealer friends and the unusual things they have to show that usually don't come our way!

Yet there's still fun to be had as we try to spot different things than caught my eye when I first showed this video. Is that a robot in the background? A Lost in Space lunchbox? Chandeliers hanging from tree limbs? These flashback videos let me highlight things I might originally have overlooked, and this nostalgic look back is full of eye candy. Enjoy!e
