Een trip volgens het boekje: veel poedersneeuw en fun met vrienden.

Op de eerste dag nemen we om 8.15 de eerste gondel omhoog vanuit Gaschurn. We treffen boven fantastische omstandigheden met strakblauwe lucht, windstil en verse pof.

Het leuke van Montafon is, dat je zonder te jagen prima in de gelegenheid bent om goede sporen te trekken zonder dat hikes nodig zijn.

Halverwege de dag verplaatsen we ons naar Grasjoch om het funpark te verkennen.

Voor de vrijdag hebben wij ons aangemeld voor Nova Exklusiv. Dit houdt in dat wij ons om 7.10 melden bij de Versettlabahn.

Met een beperkt gezelschap kunnen wij ons volledig uitleven op de vers geprepareerde pistes. Heerlijk snijden we door de strakke ribbels terwijl de zon zich steeds verder een weg omhoog werkt.

Vervolgens doen wij ons tegoed aan het ontbijt dat bij het arrangement hoort bij de Nova Stoba.

Dag 3 stond in het teken van de filmopnames. Boven de Spatla Bahn hebben wij een vlakte gespot die met een korte hike uitstekend bereikbaar is.

We stemmen duidelijk met elkaar af waar de drone komt te hangen, hoe wij onze lijn kiezen, waar wij uit willen komen en doen we een check met onze lawinepiepers.

Uiteindelijk bouwen wij de deze ochtend in drie delen op naar een absoluut hoogtepunt.

In de middag staat onze cameraman Merijn opgesteld in het funpark. Hier leggen wij zowel airtime als een soepele 180 switch op de box vast.

Na drie dagen maximale fun met Kaiserwetter en prima sneeuwcondities kijken wij met vijf man tevreden terug.

De groep splitst zich op zondag in een 3-tal, dat vroeg in de ochtend koers naar Nederland zet. Een 2-tal pakt de eerste lift nog in Gargellen. Dat blijkt een buitengewoon smakelijk toetje in petto te hebben.

Sowieso zijn wij aangenaam verrast door de bijna eindeloze potentie om hier poeder te scoren. Dit potentieel wordt onder andere ontsloten door met stijgvellen omhoog te gaan en op deze wijze het ‘earn your turns’ gestalte te geven. Wij beperken ons tot de poedersneeuw die wij nog kunnen scoren zonder hiervoor te hiken.

Om 11.30 trapt ook het 2-tal zeer voldaan het gaspedaal in op weg naar huis.

A trip by the book: lots of powder snow and fun with friends.

On the first day, we'll take the first gondola up from Gaschurn at 8.15am. We find fantastic conditions with clear blue sky, windlessness and fresh puff on top of the mountain.

The great thing about Montafon is that you'll be able to make good tracks without having to hunt and hike for powder.

Halfway through the day, we move to Grasjoch to explore the fun park.

For the Friday we have signed up for Nova Exklusiv. This means that we arrive at the Versettlabahn at 7.10.

With limited company we can fully enjoy ourselves on the freshly prepared slopes. We love to cut through the tight ridges while the sun is working its way up.

Then we feast on the breakfast that accompanies the arrangement at the Nova Stoba.

Day 3 was dominated by shooting shots for the film. Above the Spatla Bahn we spotted an area that is easily accessible with a short hike.

We clearly agree where the drone will hang, how we choose our line, where we want to end our line and we do a check with our avalanche beepers.

This morning became an absolute highlight of the trip.

In the afternoon our cameraman Merijn takes his camera gear to the snow park of Montafon at Grasjoch. Here we record both airtime and a smooth 180 switch on the box.

After three days of maximum fun with Bluebird and excellent snow conditions, we look back with five very satisfied friends.

On Sunday the group splits into 3 friends which sets course for the Netherlands early in the morning. And Two of them taking the first chair in Gargellen. This turns out to be a very tasty dessert.

Anyway, we are pleasantly surprised by the almost endless potential to score powder here. This potential is unlocked by, among other things, going up with skins and in this way give shape to 'earn your turns'. We limit ourselves to the powder snow that we can still score without hiking.

At 11.30 a.m., the two of us also step on the gas pedal on our way home.
