"Let Me Call You Sweetheart" LAKESIDE Indestructible Cylinder On 1910 Edison Amberola 1A Phonograph

Here is my 1910 Edison Amberola 1A playing a favorite Lakeside 4 minute cylinder from my collection. This is Syracuse, New York native, George Wilton Ballard, singing the beloved classic, "Let Me Call You Sweetheart (I'm In Love With You)". Lakeside cylinders were manufactured by The U.S. Phonograph Company of Cleveland, Ohio (manufacturers of the U-S Everlasting cylinders) and sold by Montgomery Ward. Lakeside (and U-S Everlasting) are some of the finest playing cylinders ever produced with quiet surfaces, excellent volume and crisp, clear sound. Unfortunately, they are prone to having their entire surface splitting due to inner core expansion under certain conditions. This particular cylinder has a small flat spot (factory defect) shortly after the start but the overall performance is far superior to an Edison Blue Amberol cylinder. Thank you for stopping in and I hope you enjoy the video.
