Story: Nalacharitham randam divasam

Nala leaves Damayanti in the forest to fend for herself. Damayanti wakes up to see that Nala has left her . She wanders in the forest looking for Nala. A python catches her . She is distressed and cries out hoping that Nala would come and rescue her. A hunter hears her and comes searching for the source of the voice. He finds a beautiful lady alone in the deep forest. He enquires why she is wandering alone . Hunter sees the python coiled around her leg. He kills it . Damayanti thanks him profusely and is about to leave when he stops her . He wants her to go with him to his home. He tries to tempt her describing his assets. Damayanti becomes totally helpless and seeks divine intervention to stop his advances. The hunter gets reduced to ashes because of the boon Indra gave Damayanti at the time of her marriage. Damayanti thanks the Devas.
