Monday morning there was a pinch in my throat

In the afternoon it moved and I felt swelling

I tossed and turned that night,

groaned and moaned

The bellows reminded me of my father in his hospital bed, recovering from bypass surgery, on his way back from death

"Which direction am I headed?"

"WHY IS IT SO DAMN BRIGHT IN HERE"

INTERNAL DIALOGUE: "me? mad at the moon? I must be really sick"

On Tuesday morning I looked in the mirror and said "Ahhhhhhhhh"

STREP... uhhhh...

I could have canceled my work week, stayed in bed, treated naturally, and been fine by Monday

But that's not how natural medicine works my frennnz.

You can't just stave off a serious condition after weeks of neglect.

I'm overworked, over sugared, over meated...

So I went to an urgent care and got the stuff

And Tuesday night, I danced with the moon

It was brutal

I tucked in at 7pm after eating nothing the entire day.

3 hours of sleep was achieved in the first round... waking up soaked, head to toe.

Changed clothes, hydrate, repeat.

That's how many underwear pairs, long sleeve shirts, beanies, and epic trips to the bathroom it took that night.

And each time, the moonlight, penetrating deeper into my room like... like... like...

sunlight?

I was having some wild dreams too

And the cicadas were out

and the eclipse was aligning itself for the next night

and the past 17 years were washing away, leaving the residue of experiences that brought life lessons, healing hearts, and stage 1 of old man grey beard wisdom.

In the morning there was a pile of wet clothes on the ground, bed sheets that managed to stay clung to 1 of 4 corners, and a pair of work trousers that felt 3 sizes too small.

did I... just say trousers?

BUT ALAS!

A smile on my face as I pulled them past my ass

bc I have trouser suspension devices

And then... just like now...

I feel better.

And the birds??? I like the song they're playing at the moment

Piriformis, though not technically "sciatica" is still irritation of the sciatic nerve

In fact...(WARNING: BORING CONTENT AHEAD)

Classic sciatica is irritation or impingement of the Sciatic nerve at the Spine ~ L4-5...S1-2

Piriformis syndrome is irritation of the sciatic nerve itself

So, piriformis syndrome is technically more sciatica, than sciatica itself

and with 700 characters remaining, there's only one thing left to do
