The Sequel Nobody Expected to Be This Good
In 1986, Aliens by James Cameron surpassed Ridley Scott's Alien in almost every way.

In 1979 Ridley Scott directed a horror sci-fi film that would terrify and thrill audiences worldwide. This movie would introduce the world to a new creature called a Xenomorph. The Xenomorph, designed by H.R. Giger, was the ultimate killing machine and had acid for blood. Unfortunately, he didn't feel like making a sequel. Probably because most times the sequel will not live up to the original film.
Then in 1986, James Cameron decides to take on the sequel. He was fresh off the success of another great sci-fi film called "The Terminator". In the original Alien, there was only one Xenomorph killing off the crew members. For the sequel, Cameron only needed to add an 'S' to the original title. This one little letter promised a lot more Xenomorphs this time around and he didn't disappoint.
Sigourney Weaver returned as Ellen Ripley, the sole survivor of Alien. The sequel picks up 57 years later when Ripley is rescued from her hyper sleep floating aimlessly in space.
She's pulled back into the action with the a platoon of Marines sent to rescue some colonists who just happen to be living in the same place where Ripley and her shipmates first encountered this alien species. Cameron recruited a few of his Terminator cast to Aliens and they all had a huge impact on the success of the film. Michael Biehn and Bill Paxton play Marines while Lance Henriksen plays the synthetic android Bishop.
This is an action packed movie with lots of alien encounters and a high body count. One of my all time favorite movies.
