NASA’s Lucy Mission: 1 Spacecraft, 7 Trojan Asteroids, 12 years

Planetary scientist Dr. Cathy Olkin of the Southwest Research Institute discusses the upcoming Lucy mission to the Trojan asteroids. Lucy is scheduled to launch in the fall of 2021; Olkin is the deputy principal investigator for the mission. This was the first presentation in the Lunar and Planetary Institute’s 2020–2021 Cosmic Exploration Speaker Series — To the Moon, asteroids, and beyond: The coming decade of solar system exploration.
