Facepalm Tree

Presented by Shawn J. Gourley of Military with PTSD.
Expectations! Breaking down the word, it means we EXPECT something. A few examples: We expect our veterans to help us do laundry, cook or clean. We expect our veterans to remember appointments. We expect flowers or glitters for birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. And when those things don’t happen, it means that our expectations were not met, which in turn usually means that we are not happy. In changing our expectations, we change our way of viewing the world around us. While some part of us might still think that was ‘dumb’, the rest of our brain can find the positive, even the humor, in whatever our veterans surprise us with.
