Hole's Patty Schemel and Eric Erlandson Discuss 'Hit So Hard' with Q&A

Hole's Patty Schemel & Eric Erlandson discuss the documentary film 'Hit So Hard: The Life and Near Death Story of Patty Schemel' in San Francisco, Fri. 4-27-12, The Roxie Theater.
Patty, Eric, Director P. David Ebersole & Producer Todd Hughes introduced the film before the Friday and Saturday screenings as well as doing a ~20 min Q&A after the shows. Eric also had a signing after the show for his new book of prose poems 'Letters to Kurt', 52 letters reflecting on life during the times of Nirvana and Hole.

Halfway through the Q&A I tried propping the camera on the seat so I actually could applaud, but the camera gradually slipped out of frame, and by the end of the talk the camera was pointed at the back of the seat in front of me. :P
Eric had a funny story about Kurt when he was into shrooms, and how when in Belgium, he spent a long time meticulously picking out all the mushrooms out of his plate of spaghetti like an old man.

Patty also talked about how Cobain rarely talked about his wife's band, but went out of his way to tell a fanzine interviewer how much he liked and respected Patty as a dummer. The fanzine interview was in French, so Melissa Auf der Maur translated it for her, since she is French Canadian. And she still has the paper, which was given to her by a fan in France.

Before and after the shows (I went to both), I got to talk and chat with Patty and Eric. I also got some autographs which was nice. I felt rather guilty asking Patty to autograph my old Hole CD of 'Celebrity Skin', considering the movie reveals that album as the biggest negative turning point in her life, but I always liked that picture of her on the cover. 'Oh it looks good!'

Patty was cool about it though, humorously remarking that "well, now you know the story behind that picture! I was all drugged out!" lol. :P
