Trump says 'dangerous thugs' are involved in BLM movement

US President Donald Trump has described violent Black Lives Matter supporters as dangerous thugs in a Fox News interview.

The President criticised the movement as violent and founded on a radical Marxist ideology, pointing out “a lot of thugs” had become involved in protests across the United States.

Mr Trump also defended his decision to visit the city of Kenosha, Wisconsin after nights of violent protests following the police shooting of an African American man.

Despite criticism his visit would inflame tensions in the area, President Trump said it was important for the people to understand his focus on law and order.
