Mathematical Physics - Group Theory : Cyclic Group

One of the most important classes of groups in abstract algebra is the class of cyclic groups. These groups are comparatively simple in structure,yet they play a fundamental role in understanding general group theory,number theory,symmetry,quantum mechanics,crystallography, many branches of physics. A cyclic group is a group generated by a single element. Every element of the group can be obtained by repeated application of the group operation on that generator. Here we will discuss the important fundamental properties of the cyclic group.
