We're a Midwest Emo Intro Waiting to Happen (Microtonal 23-limit Just Intonation)

Some deeply weird music for deeply weird people written in 23 limit just intonation. I've been watching way too many "blank, but it's a Midwest emo intro" videos lately. For those of you not in the know, one of the tropes of Midwest emo music is intros with film/tv samples of people arguing, or professing their love, or apologizing for something, or possibly all three (low-key American Football reference for you). This piece came about as a result of my noodling around with a synth sound that I thought was reminiscent of The World is a Beautiful Place and I am No Longer Afraid to Die. By the time I added a bassline that felt at home in some emo music, I decided that this needed to be a vague homage to the genre but thrown in the blender and filtered through a chaotic, xenharmonic, avant-garde, spectralist aesthetic. Listen for heavy use of the 19th harmonic in the bell-like upper part in the back half of the composition (the last 8 measures are almost entirely comprised of 19-limit harmonies).
