In a democracy, we know how important it is to have social media platforms free of fake news and material. We also know how important it is to have fair and equal representation of women in male dominated spaces. When I did a friendly fact check to protect viewers from fake material or the ‘lies’ that YouTuber, Dhruv Rathee, spread through his video on the World Happiness Report 2021, I had no idea that there are even ‘Dhruv Rathee Squads’ openly operating on various social media platforms.
