How to Add Fast Noise Effect on Davinci Resolve [NEW]

In this tutorial, we demonstrate the highly versatile 2026 workflow for adding a Fast Noise effect in DaVinci Resolve to instantly generate dynamic, procedural textures like moving clouds, liquid waves, organic smoke, or cinematic heat distortion. To apply this, navigate to the Effects library on the Edit or Color page, select the Open FX category, and drag the Fast Noise plugin directly onto your timeline clip or onto a dedicated node in your color correction tree. Open the Inspector panel under the Effects tab to customize the Detail and Contrast sliders, allowing you to control the complexity of the fractals and adjust the sharpness of the dark and light values, and use the Seethe Rate parameter to control how quickly the procedural pattern morphs and shifts over time without requiring manual keyframing. We also show how to adjust the Scale and Color Map options to transition from a tight, smoky grain to broad, fluid energy overlays, and how to utilize the Global Blend slider alongside the drop-down Composite Modes to overlay the organic noise back onto your original footage, creating a perfectly balanced, atmospheric, and truly high-end cinematic finish. By mastering the Fast Noise effect, you can introduce a powerful, visually unique, and deeply creative sense of procedural motion and texture to your professional storytelling in DaVinci Resolve 2026.
