Shimming the G43 K43 gas system

The gas operated auto-loading system of the G43 rifle has the tendency to self-destruct the rifle if not adjusted properly. The two main contributors are excess play in the op-rod (this will crack the bolt carrier over time), and a combination of worn/unsuited springs and high gas pressure in the reloading system (this will destroy the bolt housing and receiver). This video provides an introduction into the function of the G43 gas system and it shows how to determine slack in the op-rod assembly and how to select the right shim or washer to reduce the play to about 0.030" or 0.75 millimeters.
