Brendan Banfield appears in court as defense questions Reston double murder investigation

Brendan Banfield appeared in a Fairfax County courtroom for an exculpatory hearing on Tuesday.

Banfield is accused of planning an elaborate murder plot to kill his wife and another man in February 2023.

A Fairfax County judge ordered the Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney to review all police communications surrounding the transfer of a Fairfax County police officer who worked on the double homicide case---and hand over those communications to Banfield---if it may be exculpatory evidence.
