MUSIC |Nightwish| - Piano cover by Dean Kopri

What a night it was! I think I left a tiny part of my heart in this cover. Definitely one of the dearest to me and one I made fastest :D
"Music" is such a great album opening for new Nightwish album HUMAN. :||: NATURE. and I must confess that during the first verse I already had tears in my eyes ... which continued during the rest of the album until I told my self to grow some balls back lol xD
I got tons of questions asking for sheets for my piano covers and my answer is always the same - I never write them down. That's why I make my covers so quickly. I listen to the song to get the overall feeling and idea how I want my arrangement to sound. After that, I just start playing and memorizing the melody (and lyrics which helps with the rhythm). After I figure out the harmonies, I start repeating tricky parts till it sounds good, adding more texture and details. When I feel ready, I record the audio and start polishing it and mixing. Then I step away from it but still continue listening to the original song to hear if I did it right. When my ears (and brain) get rested I go back to the arrangement. Then it's time to do the video - which is incredibly difficult to make since Gabriel loves when I play, so I usually have enough time to record it from 2, maybe 3 angles (if I'm lucky). That's when some mistakes happen if I'm rushing , and since I'm still improvising, sometimes I have no idea what I recorded in the audio haha and I even now, when I played it about 30 times I would still do some parts differently - and that's something I actually like. So here it is! :D I really hope you'll like this version! I decided to record in on my keyboards because the sounds quality is much better then if I played it on my home piano!
Please go check out the new album. It's 'something special, definitely not a "fast food" sort of album and it takes time to figure out some parts, ideas behind it.
