No Frills, Hard Use Slipjoint! Great Eastern Cutlery GEC #71 Farm & Field Bull Nose

Today we take a look at the Great Eastern Cutlery (GEC) 71 pattern Bull Nose. The GEC 71 is from the Great Eastern Cutlery Farm and Field line. This means it is a no frills, high quality traditional pocket knife.

The Farm and Field line from Great Eastern Cutlery is their base line of traditional pocket knives meaning you are getting a great quality knife, without all of the bells and whistles of some of the more elaborate modern traditional knives that GEC and other companies produce.

The GEC 71 Bull Nose is a good size slip joint being 7 inches in total. I get a full 4 finger grip on the handle and it is very comfortable in the hand. The just over 3in drop point blade is made of 1095 carbon steel and features a full flat grind. It is a good overall blade shape for a variety of edc and utility tasks.

The Fit and finish on the Great Easter Cutlery 71 Farm and Field Bull Nose is great! The covers fit nicely to the liners and there is no gapping in the back spring. The spring termination and the blade centering are also just about perfect.

The Muslin micarta covers look really great and I am excited to have one in my collection. I think the Muslin micarta on this gec 71 will get darker over time and with more use.

If you are looking for a traditional slipjoint pocket knife meant for one thing and one thing only, work.... This could be the knife for your. I really enjoy this knife and I am happy to share it with you.
