New 2021 Ford Equator - Luxury Three-Row Family SUV Interior & Exterior

The Ford Equator is a three-row SUV that slots directly above the Everest in the JMC-Ford SUV line-up. The Equator is powered by a transverse-mounted 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine based on the JX4G20 petrol engine developed by JMC and AVL which produces 221 hp (224 PS; 165 kW). Production of the car is planned to start around the first quarter of 2021.

Ford continues its joint venture in China with Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC) since the last few years. And without a doubt, the two of them have been successful until now. Ford Equator can be a game-changer for the company in the coming future. But let us return back to the present and before that introductions are a must. So basically, it is a six-seater SUV that will be serving the JMC-Ford duo in the Chinese market.

On the outside, Ford Equator is massive in size and no doubt it will grab you a rigorous amount of attention. It comes with LED headlamps with DRLs, chrome studded grille and large air intakes to be precise. Further, there are a stylish set of alloy wheels, large quarter glasses and roof rails that definitely adds to the overall design. Inside the cabin, the all-new Ford Equator features two large 12.3-inch interconnected screens that might remind you of Mercedes cars.

The Equator is loaded with active safety features, at least for the top-spec model. Some of these features might be familiar to Everest Titanium owners. The Crossover-MPV is equipped with systems such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and blind-spot monitoring, just to name a few. But what's new here is the 360-degree view camera. That will surely come in handy when trying to park this (nearly) five-meter-long vehicle.

Under the hood of the Equator is NOT a 1.5-liter turbo from the Focus. Instead, it comes with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine. Headline figures include 220 PS and 350 Nm of torque that's coursed through a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
