Transmission Fluid and Filter Change for a 2010 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner SR5 TRD Sport with a 5 speed automatic Transmission. Toyota recommends checking the Transmission fluid every 30,000 miles or so in extreme driving conditions; however, they don't have a set maintenance schedule to service the transmission or change the fluid & filter. So I decided to change mine. The truck had 65,000 miles and the fluid looked dirty to me when I serviced the truck the day before. Remember, this process only removes about 1/3 to 1/2 of the fluid. If you want a 100% fluid change, you'll need to follow a different process by plugging the return line into basin and continually feeding the tranmission with fresh fluid until you replace 100% of the fluid (usually by the absence of the dirty fluid).
