Pokémon GO and the Future of Gaming

Humans have an innate desire to be social, but our social capital has declined over the years as we started plugging into entertainment technologies like TV. John Hanke, CEO of Niantic Inc. and creator of Pokémon GO, is coming up with new forms of entertainment that are helping us return to our natural, social states. His creations will be social and they will get us moving—all the things that we as humans naturally want to do. Physical movement activates our brains and affects our emotional states. Hanke outlines some of his key learnings for designing interactive, story-driven, location-based stories that are integrated into everyday life.
