How to install developer firmware:
— Download this file: https://www.lego.com/cdn/cs/set/assets/bltaab2b03b2d51fcc3/LEGO_MINDSTORMS_EV3_Firmware_109D.zip
— Use the EV3G software to remotely install it on the brick

It will work just like the other two firmware, but will also have a telnet port open.
