Money Cake | Money Pulling cake (Surprise cake)

Coffee cake base ingredients:(1 layer)

2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tbsp instant coffee powder(more if needed)
2 whole eggs(large)
1/2 cup canola oil(vegetable oil)
1 cup hot water
1 cup buttermilk(1 tbsp white vinegar + evap milk to complete 1 cup)

Coffee whipped cream Frosting:

2 1/2 cups whipping cream(chilled)
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 tbsp instant coffee powder
3 tsp gelatine, clear and unflavored
1/4 cup hot water

Chocolate Ganache: (optional)

250g bittersweet chocolate
3 tbsp evaporated milk

For decorations:

Sprinkles chocolate
coffee candies
Chocolate
Marshmallows
cookies

We need:

ice bag(3x16)
Barbecue stick
Sago Straw
cake toppper
Money

Cake Procedure:

1) Bring 1 liter of water to a boil
2) Buttermilk: Combine 1 tbsp white vinegar and add evaporated milk to complete 1 cup. Set aside
3) In a bowl combine all purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, sugar and coffee. Mix well
4) In a separate bowl combine eggs, buttermilk and oil. Mix well
5) Add dry ingredients and hot water. Mix well
6) Pour cake batter onto the cake pan. Pan size: 9"x2"
7) Tap few times to release air bubbles
8) Steam for 25-30 min. over medium heat. *don't forget to wrap the lid with clean cloth to prevent water from dripping into the cake
9) *do the toothpick check and if it comes out clean or with few most crumbs the cake is cook. But if it's still wet extend cooking time and check every 5 minutes
10)Remove from steamer and cool in a pan for 5 minutes
11)Remove cake from the pan
12)Peel the parchment and cool completely
13)Repeat steps for the 2nd and 3rd layer
14)Crush Coffee candies

Coffee Whipped cream Frosting:

1) Combine gelatine and hot water. Set aside
2) In a bowl combine whipping cream, brown sugar and coffee
3) Whip cream on medium speed until soft peaks form
4) Add dissolved gelatine and whip until stiff peaks form

Chocolate Ganache:

1) In a pan combine chocolate and evaporated milk
2) Cook over low heat until it melts and smooth
3) Let it cool down

Prepare Money surprise:

1) Put the money inside the ice bag and seal it
2) Attach the sago straw
3) Wipe it clean
4) Roll it

Prepare the cake:

1) 2nd layer: Cut the center of the cake(3.2"x2")
2) 3rd layer: Cut the center of the cake(3.2"x0.5")

Assemble:

1) Place the 1st layer on the cake board
2) Add frosting and crushed candies
3) Place the 2nd layer on top(with big hole)
4) Insert the skewer into the cake(2nd layer)
5) Insert the rolled money into the skewer
6) Insert a hook on the edge of the plastic
7) Add Frosting and crushed candies
8) Place the 3rd layer on top(with small hole)
9) Insert the hook into the small hole and pull it gently
10)Frost the whole cake
11)Chill for 20 minutes
12)Spread chocolate ganache on top of the cake
13)Glue the cake topper and the plastic together
14)Decorate the cake
