What happens is cars are coming both ways, so peripheral vision collapses which takes with it the sense of where your body is in space. Turning your eyes back and forth will further the disorientation.
1:13 So How do you cross the street safely with the brain injury in the middle of the street and
1:18getting really hurt?
What I do is pay attention to my ears but still need to
1:24do is learn how to navigate the world the way a blind person would and start
1:28to rely upon other senses besides just vision. you want to use your ears you
1:34want to make sure that you're grounded in your body as much as possible
1:37want to use your intuition and all your other awarenesses around you to get
1:42across the street the ideal thing to do if possible is to follow somebody else
1:48so if you can just look at that one spot in front of you or follow somebody else
1:52crossing the street
so pay attention
