More than 250 members of the Bnei Menashe community from India have arrived in Ben Gurion Airport on April 24, marking a significant step in their long-awaited return to Israel.

Originating from Manipur and Mizoram, the group is part of a government-backed initiative to relocate descendants believed to be from the biblical tribe of Manasseh—one of the Lost Tribes of Israel.

This arrival is the first wave under Operation Wings of Dawn, a plan to resettle around 4,600 individuals, with nearly 6,000 still awaiting relocation. Around 1,200 are expected to arrive in 2026.

Supported by Shavei Israel, many families are reconnecting with their heritage after generations. Emotional reunions and celebrations marked the moment, as the newcomers were welcomed with songs, flags, and prayers.

They are expected to settle in Nof Hagalil, joining an existing Bnei Menashe community.

This journey is more than migration—it is a return shaped by faith, memory, and a deep sense of belonging.
