Vatican Holds Study Day Exploring Marriage and Faith Formation | SG News

The Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life is hosting a major study day at the Vatican titled “The Sacrament of Marriage, Faith and the Munus Docendi” on April 28, 2026, at Casina Pio IV.

The event will bring together Church leaders, seminary formators, and experts to reflect on the vital link between marriage, faith formation, and the Church’s teaching mission. Key speakers include Cardinal Kevin Farrell, alongside Fr Andrea Bozzolo and Fr Fabio Rosini.

A central focus is the formation of future priests — equipping them to better accompany couples, families, and young people in today’s changing cultural landscape. The initiative also highlights the importance of strong family life in evangelization and faith transmission.

Marking the 10th anniversary of Amoris Laetitia, Pope Leo XIV has reaffirmed that marriage forms a “domestic Church” essential to Christian life.
