Palestinians being ‘collectively punished’ for actions of Hamas: Ed Husic

Industry and Science Minister Ed Husic says Palestinians are being “collectively punished” for the barbarism of Hamas.

“There is an obligation on governments, particularly the Israeli government, to follow the rules of international law,” Mr Husic said on ABC radio.

“And to observe, in particular, that innocents should be protected.”

Opposition leader Peter Dutton says there is a lot of “anti-Israel sentiment” within the Labor caucus and they are “so quick” to condemn Israel.

This comes as a demonstration of civil rights groups outside Parliament House in Canberra urged the government to assist more with the evolving humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
