Baby Seal Live Birth

Naude and Katja spent the day at Cape Cross to check up on the new seal pups. Cape Fur Seals are usually all born between the 15th of November and December every year.
After about an hour into their visit they found a large female seal just starting to enter labor. She struggled for about 10 minutes and managed to give birth to a healthy looking pup. There are more than 20 000 new pups at Cape Cross at the moment.
This was a big event for Naude and Katja as it’s the first live birth they’ve witnessed:)
