RC Canadair CL-84 Dynavert by Shenzhen Unique Model Tech
Here is the info on the airplanes.. from Bob the pilot...
CL-84 by "Shenzhen Unique Model Tech Co. LTD" http://www.uniquemodelrc.com/proshow.asp?id=568
The airplane is essentially stock. I repaired a broken tail rotor linkage probably shipping damage. It is missing motor cowlings... one was cracked in shipment and I have not gotten around to repairing it, and the hatches around the wing mount... makes the wing pivot harder to remove and I plan to make some modifications soon.
The ARF was purchased directly from China, via Find-Hobby http://www.f-hobby.com/index.php?gOo=goods_details.dwt&goodsid=781&productname=.
Aside from the above mentioned repairs, assembly was 5 glue joints (done with one batch of 5 min epoxy, 3 vertical tails and 2 landing gear sponsons), 14 screws, plus a while figuring out how to connect all the wires. Under an hour total.
Wingspan: 950mm or 37.41in
Length: 1050mm or 41.34in
Height: 340mm or 13.39in
Flying weight: 1.7kg or 3.7 pounds
Today was flights 12, 13 and 14
Right now, its using the flight controller that comes with the kit. It is a bit limited, but obviously, it does work. The main problem is that the wing tilt is 2 positions (with a slow slew rate), and the controller only has two modes, which it switches between as the wing goes past 45 deg tilt angle. The sudden shift is not too bad on outbound transition, but the inbound has a strong pitch up, followed by a strong pitch down. Not pretty but it works.
Note from the photographer...
Flight 14 was not recorded, I was in the field picking up plane parts.
