Wild India - Last of the Hunters (1993) - 16mm/ Col _VHS Print
Once common in Asia Minor, lions, tigers and one-horned rhinoceros were hunted almost to extinction by Mogul emperors, the maharajahs, and the British. Ironically, when animal populations began falling it was the hunters who hung up their guns and became ardent conservationists - establishing what are now the national parks of India. Uses some archive footage.
