SEAWEED HUNTING IN SCOTLAND | ADVENTURE TRAVEL VLOG

After diving for scallops and surfing in a kayak, I ended up on the island of Easdale, home to the world rock skimming (skipping) championship, and Duncan, the resident seaweed specialist.

Growing up on Canada’s East Coast, I’ve played around in the North Atlantic Ocean a few times before. I also studied seaweeds in a course called Phycology at my university. I can’t say I went in knowing nothing, but I was rusty at best. Duncan had a whole afternoon lined up for us. Identifying, foraging, cutting, eating, and eventually cooking all sorts of different Algae, even one that tasted like Bacon!
