Rose cuttings or clippings can easily be grown into a healthy plant. In India, pruning of rose plants is done twice a year in late June & early December. Apart from removing weak & dead wood, prune up to about half of the growth of each branch of old plants. these branches can be used as rose cutting and grow as an individual plant.

Which month is best for rose cuttings to grow?
You may grow any month of the year, just avoid extreme hot or extreme winter season. Rose cuttings should be taken from the current year's growth. You can take flexible, softwood rose cuttings of very new growth in late spring and summer – these roots quickly and easily. Semi-hardwood cuttings are taken in late summer and early autumn when new stems are firmer and more mature.

What season do roses grow?
Aside from times of extreme weather, roses can be planted at any time during the year. However, irrespective of the locations in the hills, October is the most suitable time for planting roses. In a temperate climate, it can be planted in the open field from October-November and February to March.

गुलाब की कटाई - छँटाई के कारण जो शाखाएँ निकलती हैं उनसे नए पौधे उगा सकते हैं। कलम की मोटाई लगभग छह से दस मिलीमीटर के बीच होनी चाहिए होती है। इसके साथ कलम सही जगह और सही कोण पर काटा जाना भी ज़रूरी होता है। कलम के निचले हिस्से पर रूटींग हार्मोन आदि का भी उपयोग करना ज़रूरी होता है।
