Poursuivant son exploration du répertoire pour violoncelle, Napoli! s’immerge dans la cité méditerranéenne, à la rencontre de ses personnages emblématiques. Nous croisons ainsi les virtuoses Fiorenza, Lanzetti ou Francischello, les compositeurs Durante ou Leo, l’Espagnol Ortiz et le madrilène Corselli, et même, au détour d’une sonate ou d’une danse, Scaramouche, Arlequin et leurs camarades de la commedia dell’arte... C’est dans cette folle richesse que se révèle l’âme napolitaine : hybride, sensuelle, contrastée, à la fois théâtrale et profondément authentique.

Aux côtés du Pulcinella Orchestra ainsi que de Sandrine Piau, Marina Viotti et Luan Góes, le violoncelle d’Ophélie Gaillard s’abreuve à ses multiples sources, entre populaire, lyrique, profane ou sacré. Des inédits de Porpora, Bonno et Barbella confirment que Naples n’a pas fini de livrer ses secrets… Entrez dans la danse !

Ophélie Gaillard takes you on a tour of baroque Naples! Continuing her exploration of the cello repertoire, her recording 'Napoli!' immerses itself in the Mediterranean city, meeting its emblematic figures. We meet the virtuosos Fiorenza, Lanzetti and Francischello, the composers Durante and Leo, the Spanish Ortiz and the Madrid-born Corselli, and even, in the course of a sonata or a dance, Scaramouche, Harlequin and their comrades from the commedia dell'arte... The Neapolitan soul is revealed in all this richness: hybrid, sensual, contrasting, both theatrical and profoundly authentic.

Alongside the Pulcinella Orchestra as well as Sandrine Piau, Marina Viotti and Luan Góes, Ophélie Gaillard's cello draws on its many sources, from popular to lyrical, secular to sacred.
