Both a composer and a performer, Clarke is ont he most eclectic figure of the 20th century. Her music, at the crossroads of various currents, create a quite atypical language that is resolutely modern. This album including her Sonata for viola and piano, one of her masterpieces, is enhanced with the world premiere recording of Irish Melody, a long lost score that was recently rediscovered.
