Witcher 3: A Guide To Making Money By Selling Items Late Game (Blood and Wine)

Thanks for watching this video, which has tips for making money late-game in Witcher 3.  Please like, comment and subscribe for more content if you enjoyed. This video goes hand in hand with my video about making Grandmaster armour sets as cheaply as possible, so check the link below if you want to watch that too.

Without further ado, here are some of the tips covered in this video:

Trade in Florens & Orens at the bank for extra Crowns.

IMPORTANT:  Different armourers/blacksmiths give different prices. Joanna is the worst for selling, but the best for dismantling/crafting.  Grandmaster armourer Lafargue is the worst for dismantling but best for selling, and only one who can create Enriched Dimeritium items and Infused Slyzard hides.

Master armourers give 2x items for some dismantling.  Only ever dismantle with master armourers (preferably Joanna)

Stash weapons until later in game as long as you have money for what you need.  This does slow down the menu when in your stash though.

Don't buy or make things unnecessarily.  Don't buy recipes where possible, loot chests when exploring to find them.  Don't EVER buy runes or glyphs. Don't use runes or glyphs for the sake of it. Avoid Remove Upgrades like the plague, as it's expensive and destroys the runes or glyphs.

Use repair kits, don't repair with the armourers.

Craft runes and glyphs from scratch.  Get Feathers for glyphs from Upper Mill Geese + meditate. Lesser infusion to lesser Glyph to Glyph to Master Glyph.

Sell hides and items to Toussaint innkeepers.

Some things can be sold eg some gems, Pearls and dusts BUT NOT ALL.  You'll need gems for Feline swords and others. Save at least 5 each. Powdered Pearl is need for glyphs so try to keep a good number of pearls.  Black Pearl Dust is used for runes, but should have enough lesser runes anyway to be able to sell most Black Pearls.

Craft ingredients from scratch if possible, eg Green gold to Orihalcum. Dismantle items into Gold/Green Gold/Silver/Copper/Nickel.

Manticore swords are a good alternative if you need to save on Grandmaster swords. Manticore armour set is cheaper on a first playthrough (not in New Game Plus though)  The Viper set is cheaper too, but isn't as good offensively as the other sets.

My main build is cheaper than most (in addition to being the best build possible) because it uses the Nilfgaardian/Undvik dlc trousers, Nilfgaardian Guardman's Gauntlets & Manticore boots instead of Grandmaster equivalents.

The Hen Gaidth Sword is free; you only do first bit of the relevant mission to get the key.  You can then get just the sword, which will possibly be even better than Toussaint Knight's Steel Sword due to level + different perks + free / no Enriched Dimeritium needed.  This will be covered in the later part of my Death March walkthrough.

Runewright level 3 is a luxury, not compulsory.  You can leave this until after crafting Grandmaster armour and renovating Corvo Bianco IMO.  My build uses Levity but works fine without it. Level 2 for Severance is great though.

Most herbs are not needed for NG+.

Hugo is the only full price merchant in the game, but he only has 500-600 crowns per time until you meditate or fast travel a few times.  Save him in the Father Knows Worst mission, and spare his brothers too.

Adding sockets to Aerondight is EXTREMELY expensive, but worth it.  The Corvo Bianco Garden is essential for converting Mutagens to reds.

Corvo Bianco costs 14k total.

Sell all except 1 of each unique trophy (monsters, humans, gold, herbs, dismemberment boost)

Use the Swineherd trophy before negotiation of contracts to get a 15% Gold boost!
