Last days on the Delta | Wild lion photography on location with the Nikon D850 300mm 2.8 VR
Hey guys!
Sorry for the break in content, I've been busy sorting life out with some big changes, as well as enjoying a break for my birthday (26 yesterday)!
In todays video however we are back on the Okavango, it's time for a last few game drives as well as a chance to spend time with my Bushman safari guides. The Delta doesn't disappoint and even with limited time left, we still manage to squeeze in some top wildlife photography opportunities!
In these videos I've been working to give you some behind the scenes of my time out shooting, but of course I couldn't film everything, as a photographer the images always come first and when some of the exciting moments happen so quickly, I grab the stills camera and shoot! Because that's what I love to do! As a follow up I'm going to be doing a few final videos with my favourite images form the trip, giving the settings and talking about the final images that I didn't get a chance to film on location!
I'll also be sharing info regarding the tour I'll be leading back to Botswana hopefully next year, so if you like what you've been seeing and fancy joining me in both Chobe and on the Delta stay tuned for info. I'll be putting it out on Instagram and here in the descriptions! If you want to get in early you can drop me an email via my website www.tommasonphoto.com and I'll get you on the list the get the information as soo as it's ready!
Whilst I'm on the Delta I'm staying at the Bushman Plains safari camp, located in the heart of the Delta its a perfect base to get out for photography, with jeep access allowing for off road tracking for some really top class wildlife encounters!
I'll be posting more images over on my Instagram so be sure to drop me a follow @TomMasonPhoto https://www.instagram.com/tommasonphoto/
I was lucky enough to be invited out to stay with Pangolin Safaris in order to do some shooting and scouting for some future projects (stay tuned if you enjoy the videos and fancy travelling with me in the next few years!)
In regards to full integrity I was given the chance to travel out to Botswana free as part of a scouting mission ahead of leading my own tours back here in the future!
As always if you have any questions about the gear or wildlife photography in general pop them down in the comment below, You can check out more of my work over at www.tommasonphoto.com (new website coming soon) Please subscribe for future videos and of course feel free to share with anyone/groups you think might find the channel helpful!
You can find more about Pangolin Safaris here https://www.pangolinphoto.com/ and the awesome work they support with pangolin conservation here https://www.pangolin.africa/.
If you didn't know already, Pangolins (numerous species) are one of the most endangered animals on the planet, trafficking for "medicine" and other illegal trades has seen numbers decimated. By staying with pangolin safaris each night in the hotel supports their conservation, meaning whilst you get a luxury photo safari, you're also doing good, and I really rate that!
