My x-ray shows bone spurs and loose bodies- Do I need surgery?
Ross Hauser, MD discusses patients who have questions about x-ray findings that include loose bodies or bone spurs. In general, these are findings that do not answer why a person has chronic pain. Rather, they indicate that there is joint instability that allowed the formation of bone spurs or cartilage to deteriorate. Joint instability is the missing diagnosis for most chronic pain. From a Prolotherapist's perspective, just removing the loose body or shaving the bone spur does nothing to resolve why the problem appeared in the first place. Regenerative Medicine looks to alleviate pain by treating the root cause of the issue, which is usually joint instability. If you would like our team to review your case and see if you are a candidate for Prolotherapy instead of surgery, please reach out to us at https://www.caringmedical.com
