Chicago's Heritage Fleet

The Chicago Transit Authority maintains a heritage fleet alongside their usual transportation and management fleet of rail cars. The heritage fleet consist of two 1923 4000-series rail cars and an eight-car train of 2400-series rail cars. They also have some 1960's busses.

To mark the 125 year anniversary of ‘L’ service in Chicago they ran the trains on the downtown loop. The event attracted hundreds of people, was a huge hit with enthusiasts and Chicagoans alike.
