We’ve never ridden in a zone like this 🫣

This was probably one of the more technical blue runs we have ever navigated snowboarding. It’s very similar to riding a tree run except they are gigantic boulders instead.

It’s runs like these that will substantially build a riders skill set. It’s not fast but it’s meticulous enough to have your brain thinking in multiple ways at once. One you’re focused on what’s directly in front and around you while simultaneously you’re thinking two to three turns ahead to stay safe.

Our guide Carlo kept saying “When in doubt there’s 3 ways out” meaning that when in doubt you can either go left, right or straight. I love that saying because it now has Cashy thinking about more options at once. Sometimes the best option is a little uphill traverse to get you past a tough spot. Sometimes it’s straight down to an opening.

This run tested it all. Decision making, quick adjustments, not panicking in tight spots and committing quickly to your option at hand.

Such a fun run. I could only imagine it all fluffy on a deep pow day flying off some of these boulders. However that view from the bottom shows just how gnarly this run actually is!
