The New Science of Engagement, Gabe Zichermann, CEO Gamification
Gamification is the process of using game thinking and mechanics to engage audiences and solve problems.
I'm 37 years old and I'm the oldest cohort of people who grew up with games as a core type of entertainment in their lives.
Kids who are maybe five years old today are growing up with games as their principal form of entertainment and that multi-generational exposure has simply affected the way that we think.
Shakespeare famously wrote, "All the world is a stage." But if Shakespeare were alive today, wouldn't he have written, "All the world is a game."
