Roger Gill: Leadership and Engagement

In this video, Professor Gill explains the importance of engagement as a core characteristic of leadership practice. Good leaders show the way by influencing, motivating and inspiring, getting people to want to do something. There is a relationship between engaging leadership and charisma, authenticity and the use of inspirational language and speech.

Roger Gill, Ph.D., is Visiting Professor at Durham University Business School. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Hodos Institute, an independent consultant in leadership and leadership development. He was of Business Administration (OB & HRM) and Director of Executive Development Programs at the University of Strathclyde Business School, where he later served as Visiting Professor of Leadership Studies and Program Director for the MBA in Leadership Studies in collaboration with the Leadership Trust, where he founded and for nine years directed the Research Centre for Leadership Studies. Roger has also served as Visiting Professor at Queen's University, Belfast, and at the Higher Colleges of Technology, United Arab Emirates.
