COCKY DUDE Tried To IGNORE ME! (Here's How I BROKE Him)

Have you ever tried to engage with an apparently high status person when in a group setting, and been purposefully ignored, just totally blown off?

This type of frustrating and demeaning experience is more likely to occur in a high-intensity social environment, such as a bar, club or even an elite business gathering.

How do you react to this type of obvious and public snub? You have two viable options you can take to deal with this rudeness:

1) Just walk away from the interaction. Cut your losses, end the aggravation. The downside to this strategy is simply that you have to live with yourself; and our egos tend to suffer a bit when we accept being totally disregarded as not even worthy of an acknowledgment or response from another.

2) Or, you can take some dramatic action (with some degree of risk) to get the person's attention and make it clear you will not be slighted and defined as insignificant. This involves a loud "interrupter" type of exclamation such as "Yo!," or even "Hello!" which rattles the ignoring person, and makes it almost impossible for him not to reply. But, it's critical to quickly de-escalate, and pivot to a friendly, good humored, smiling posture, so it is clear you are not looking for a confrontation.
