I Went to IKEA for 2 Bookcases + Left with 4 (Rare IKEA “Last Chance” Sale ?)

Today’s adventure turned into one of my best sale/clearance finds yet: I’ve been eyeing those bright green IKEA BILLY bookcases with the glass doors for my next apartment for months. They fit my dream vibe perfectly: moody, colorful, maximalist, cozy, and would fit SO MANY books, treasures/art pieces I’ve collected, and TRINKETS.

I checked the IKEA website and saw they were marked Last Chance for $199, which was tempting enough. So I made the hour drive to Renton, Washington to visit IKEA Renton and see if I could grab two of them before they disappeared. It said there were 31 left.

And LO AND BEHOLD, those babies are on super sale for $79. Yes, $79. With the doors. Sometimes the home decor gods truly provide.

Anyways, I bought four.

Because if I’m going to build the library wall of my dreams, I’m doing it properly. These bookcases are going to hold books, thrifted treasures, decor finds, collectibles, hidden storage, and all the colorful maximalist energy I want in my next place.

I’m currently planning my next apartment era, and this haul feels like the beginning of it. If you love apartment decorating, IKEA finds, interior design on a budget, bold color furniture, or moody maximalist home vibes, that’s what I’m on a mission for lately.
